Report: Will Muschamp Interviewing with UH
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--h ... 46809.html
Former Florida coach Will Muschamp interviewed this week for the vacant head-coaching position at Houston, sources told Yahoo Sports.
Several Southeastern Conference schools are believed to be courting Muschamp for a defensive-coordinator position, but he is interested in staying in the head-coaching ranks, sources said.
Muschamp was fired after four seasons with the Gators, compiling a 28-21 record. Prior to coming to Florida, he was the defensive coordinator at Texas and knows the recruiting landscape in the state.
Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman also is a candidate for the Houston job, sources said. Herman won this year's Broyles Award as the outstanding assistant coach in college football, largely for his work developing backup quarterbacks J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones.
A timetable for naming a new coach is unclear. After its second year in the American Athletic Conference, Houston fired Tony Levine on Monday after three seasons at the school.
If the Big 12 is going to expand back to 12 (or more) schools, Houston seems to be angling to be in consideration for one of those potential spots. The school sits in a recruiting hotbed and has aggressively upgraded its athletic commitment in recent years. Houston opened its rebuilt football stadium in August, and a basketball practice facility is expected to open next August.

Re: Report: Will Muschamp Interviewing with UH
Muschamp would be an idiot to take the 711 job. He can got to South Carolina and make the same $ now and succeed Spurrier as HC when he retires in 2-3 years. If he flames out at UH he is done as a head coach
With that said, I hope Houston hires him. His Florida teams were a trainwreck, I think he's one of those guys who's better suited as a coordinator focusing on one thing than being a HC and juggling multiple responsibilities.

What happened to him getting a lot of love from Auburn and A&M for the DC spot? Surely he'd get paid more there than at UofH as a HC.

Muschamp was a disaster at a school that has vastly more resources and infrastructure than UH. I think they'd be better served by going with a young OC/DC.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I agree. Muschamp will probably be "OK", but not another Briles or Sumlin. Herman could be.
On twitter, their AD asked for feedback so I suggested June Jones.
