To the SMU fans in Philly, well done!

Post by LA_Mustang »

Got a big mention in the ESPN recap......was Rev Webster leading that charge??

Larry Brown a winner in Philly return, SMU tops Temple 60-55
Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA -- Nic Moore hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:20 left and Markus Kennedy scored 21 points to lead SMU past Temple 60-55 on Wednesday night.

Moore helped the Mustangs (13-4, 4-1 American Athletic Conference) rally back from a 13-point hole in the second half to win their third straight game. Moore buried a jumper that pulled SMU within one and then hit a 3 in front of the bench that sent the fans into a frenzy. The SMU fans had fun pointing at and taunting the adjacent Temple student section.

SMU had plenty of fans on its trip to Philadelphia. SMU coach Larry Brown coached the Philadelphia 76ers for six seasons and led them to the 2001 NBA finals. Aaron McKie, the sixth man on that team, is now a Temple assistant coach.

Kennedy, 9 of 11 from the field, is a Philadelphia native and played for Villanova before transferring to SMU.

Jesse Morgan had 15 points for the Owls (12-6, 3-2). The Owls have lost two straight after a six-game winning streak.

As much as I would like to say I was leading the charge, the only one I taunted was my beagle back here in Cincinnati.

I had some fun with that one on a retweet. Even Billy E favored it!

Agreed!! It was beautiful. Who's going to Tulane? They have a teeny stadium (do they still play at Fogelman?). Could probably drown out that crowd.

Why does it seem like the winning team's fans are the ones who are always classless

Markus' family were relentless. Fun being there.
Can't wait for Tulane next week.

By the way... All Temple fans near us were classy, nice to chat with and complimentary. It was the student section up behind and off to the right who were not so happy with us.
Party at The Wopper!

Refreshing to watch a conference game that seemed like it had a great arena atmosphere.

We were about 50 fans (30 of them MK5 family) and the whole student section was in awe seeing SMU dominate the last 2 mins! MK5 was in beast mode!

Ojai, if still at Fogelman, that is hugely distracting. This is an '80's era Texas Class 1 A high school gym. I went with the team in Doh's first year and when we walked in to the locker room, I immediately went to look and see if they actually had more than 1 shower. They did. Two. But the water pressure was so bad Doh put em back on the bus to shower at the hotel. It looked, felt and smelled like a poor HS gym. Pathetic.

I was opposite to the Kennedy family at the same level, and had several loud and ignorant idiots cursing up a storm next to my kid. Enjoyed teaching him that ebay goes in the student section stays in the student section...but around kids you speak how you want outbreak to perceive you.

Overall good crowd, but the Moody presentation and experience is much better.
