#SMU just picked up a commitment from Jersey Village LB Jordon Williams. Past 48 hours have been great for #PonyUp.

15 offers in all BUT not a 3 star on Rivals and Scout. Now see what I'm talking about offer lists is where its at? He should fit nicely at the Hybrid Safety spot

From the interview:
The 6-1, 200-pound linebacker will play the hybrid Star linebacker position for SMU and he’s excited to play in the box again.
“I played DB my junior and senior year and didn’t get to blitz as much,” Williams said. “At that Star position, you’re blitzing off the edge and have to come and fit in the box. I feel like that’s something I would be able to do.”

Can someone explain the Star Linebacker position?

Sounds like the old "rover back" position. Move him around. Blitz, drop into coverage, play the run. Little bit of everything.

Rivals only has him with one other offer - NW.

FYI, Rivals and Scout have him as a 2 star, but ESPN has him graded at a 75.

For the other question, the Star position is that hybrid LB/S position in the 4-2-5.

Push "Show All" and you'll see the rest of the offers.

You're not very good at the internet. Hit the "Show All" tab.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Solid commit!

I think it needs to be said we don't know what we have with our defense. With how often they were on the field last year, and with horrible field position, you don't know what they are capable of. A good offense can be a huge boost for a poor defense. With these new added guys pieced in, who knows what they will be able to produce.
