Last straw on the game presentation

Post by JasonB »

We go up 6 midway through the second half and are on the verge of running them out of the building. Cincy calls timeout, and the whole crowd is going nuts. Start 7 nations, and the students and whole crowd are into it, on their feet.

And then, sudden stop. Really awkward silence. Band starts playing. Everyone sit their [deleted] back down.

What the [deleted]? Most critical stage of the game! Cincy comes out and hits a 3 after the TO. Last year, the music would have been pumping and the crowd would be so loud that Cincy would have [deleted] their pants before they even had the chance to take the shot.

I think I know exactly what happened. Someone told the DJ that TV turned the 30 second timeout into a full timeout to go to commercial. Therefore cut the music because the band plays during long timeouts. So the DJ cut it off then and there.

This is getting beyond absurd. Last year when we went to a long timeout, we played a full [deleted] Queen song and the entire crowd sung along. The other team couldn't hear themselves think, much less settle down through the timeout.

Stop the insanity and stop killing our home court advantage. Please. I beg you.

Have been following the [deleted] about the presentation with laughs because I generally do not care- I just watch the games- however when that happened I got it.

Students brought it tonight and the presentation has gradually improved all season.
So I just LOLd when the Mob and other student sections were finally jumping up and down to 7 Nation Army for the first time all season and then the needle was ripped off the record for the band to play....lol.

Well said. I urge everyone though to pick up the phone
this morning. You must complain directly to those in charge. Only way we have any chance of fixing this is to make those complaints directly to athletics/MC.

Same people who played the cliched and well-worn Back in Black while our opponent, dressed in all black uniforms, warmed up.

I'm not a professional DJ - but I get it.

You play 7 Nation Army coming OUT of the timeout (at the back end of TO) so that that crowd is roaring/Jumping/etc going into play.

They really just don't get it. Let's get that guy back from Cincy.

This was by far the defining moment of the game. Nic Moore was so made that they stopped seven nation army that he decided to dribble the ball off his foot out of bounds right after the time out. Game over right there.

Did Cinci pay more for the last DJ or did he want to leave?
