C-USA had an impressive showing last weekend, but the stigma of being a "mid-major" conference just brings this kind of media attention. The writer needs to check his facts (still thinks C-USA has an invite to the Humanitarian Bowl), but his point is well taken. C-USA has intenal problems because their basketball only schools like Marquette and DePaul have not been happy about the additions of ECU and TCU. In his quest to expand football in C-USA, former commish Slive has watered down what once was one of the top hoops conferences in the country.
For anyone thinking C-USA is the answer for SMU...think again. It's future may eventually go the way of the old Metro Conference. Next time there's a game of musical chairs, it's time to try to reunite with TCU and Houston...but not S.Fla and E.Carolina.

Re: C-USA Hoops
If we had quality teams like S. Florida in a conference with SMU, we would have a TOUGH schedule, but also a superb conference.

Agree USF has decent programs and is in a nice city, but too far from Dallas to be a viable conference mate.
