I'm on the planet where we could have used those timeouts. The planet where we got out coached by an FCS staff. I'm no June lover and I love Morris' recruiting style, but any goodwill we gained with a helicopter was lost with that performance on the field. Winning is the best recruiting tool
We've already scored more points this year than we did all last year with what June put together
I'd rather watch this team with a bunch of freshman putting up 391 yards total offense than barely sliding by Montana St. with a roster that was stair-steppin' down in talent. The only difference is we scored too quickly. To me that game was MORE embarrassing than last nite. Open your eyes there were plenty of reasons to be hopeful for the future. This program is headed in the right direction. Recruits react on a personal level-you can sell recruits on momentum and when you start at 1-11 you don't have to go to a bowl game to show recruits you are headed in the right direction. (Sorry Billy Embody-you got that one wrong. seen it too many times)
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
In the end we will be fine. I believe HCCM has this thing on the right track. Last nights game was embarrassing for the program and the defense is horrible. This was just a reality check that we will have to wait until 2017 to be dangerous
Agreed this was immensely embarrassing. Why SMU didn't cancel this game out and replace a really easy FCS team for Morris and our big homecoming 100 year celebration is beyond me. Seriously though, we need to cut some scholarships on the defense side. They shouldn't be here, no offense.

Why is it embarrassing? Because we have a coach that's been here less than a year that's still in rebuilding mode?
This isn't even as close as anything that happened last year, or the Montana State game, or the Tulane game or numerous other events that happened under the previous regime.
The only reason anyone even expected us to compete in this game, much less win it, was because we played well against TCU and Baylor...two big rivalry games for our team and fanbase. We're heading in the right direction, but that takes time. Those two games completely skewed people's perception of how far we really have to go imo.
