JIM BOEHEIM TO APPEAL SUSPENSION
The Syracuse coach will appeal his 9-game ACC suspension on Monday and will include a comparison of the penalty handed to SMU coach Larry Brown, according to ESPN's Andy Katz. Brown was also suspended 9 games, but can coach in AAC games.

Boeheim to appeal suspension, based on LB suspension?
Please explain.....
Re: Boeheim to appeal suspension, based on LB suspension?
Is he upset because LB's count towards OOC games and his are for conference games?

Ncaa could say "ok good point Jim. Your stuff was ten years. 90 game suspension. Our bad"

@therealboeheim got 9 LEAGUE games! I think his attorney is salivating! NCAA sanctions seem arbitrary.

Jim Boeheim got 9-game suspension for long laundry list of items. SMU's is shorter. But Larry and the school have a history. News at 11...

Do we almost hope that this gets granted? So that then we can turn around and say, well our offenses were far less serious and for a single instance rather than a decade.
This whole situation is crazy. I get this weird feeling that if we really went after the NCAA, this could get interesting. The question is, will be push that hard.

I like sports and I don't care who knows.

this is great. Boeheim non-conf would mean his only 'big' missed games would be G-Town & Wisconsin and either Michigan or UCONN in an in-season tourney. if he misses ACC play, he'll be missing Pitt, Miami, Clemson, UNC, BC, WAKE, DUKE, UVA and ND.
can afford to lose one or two of those out of conf games and still win the conference, miss the conf games and lose half or so, no shot at winning ACC (not that it's a guaranty by any means, but a conf like ACC can cannibalize itself so every win counts.
this is going to be VERY interesting as SMU and 'Cuse point fingers at each other's punishments of being VERY equal, but with minor differences.
to say "well Syracuse's penalty is the same because we didn't consider anything prior to the new system in Sept 1, 2013, but then to point at SMU's punishment and say "well, there's a LONG history with both the coach and the school, so that was taken into consideration". can't have it both ways.
could we have a joint suit on our hands with a co-defendant that some would consider a NCAA blue blood in terms of hoops?

Has his "appeal timeline" not expired?

In his NCAA pod today, Greenberg also couldn't figure out the facts of our case.
Kept repeating mantra that KF cheated on an SMU class to make him eligible, was suspended last spring due to the NCAA investigation, and that LB actively knew and covered up. Seems a bit tossed that Boeheim received a relatively soft penalty compared with SMU respective to the duration and quantity of violations.

Good. Makes the appeals line longer
