The Pavilion at Ole Miss
I really like their new arena. First game tomorrow night against Bama. Cost 96.5 million. How much did TCU spend to renovate DMC?

I would rather play at Old Miss than Texas Christian if I was a player.

Re: The Pavilion at Ole Miss
wait - they spent the same, got brand new, and it isn't round?
Re: The Pavilion at Ole Miss
Ole Miss > TCU, and it's not even close. I'm especially liking the open window on the side of the pavilion. TCU should have done a complete tear-down. UH needs to as well, I went there with my parents recently and it's even worse in person.
Re: The Pavilion at Ole Miss
I still think TCU's looks the exact same

That glass panel up high looks really good. Like an old field house. Overall great job and, for the money, light years ahead of froggie.

That's what I have been saying on all of the threads about the new TCU arena. TCU boosters were sold a bill of goods about the cost prohibitiveness of a new arena. It simply isn't true that you can't get brand new for what they spent on their renovated obsolescence.

They were sold a 40 or something million renovation and costs soared to 90. Poor planning.

Nice facility there. The baseball field at Ole Miss is named after a great uncle of mine. So I've got that going for me.

They claimed a new facility would cost 160 million

All the reports I'm hearing is that it was done first class all the way. Here are some photos from the first couple of games:
Exterior:

Largest center hung video board in college basketball:

People lined up to get in on Thursday night:

View from the top:

Fox News' Shepard Smith in his courtside seats right in front of the students (only place he'd be - right in the middle of things). Note that they thought ahead and put cupholders on the courtside seats to avoid spills during the game:

Entry area with Steak n Shake (also has a Raising Cane's and a couple other branded vendors):

Ribbon cutting on Saturday:

Courtside club area:
