Shake and Pat Birt
Did anyone else notice the interaction between those two towards the end of the game? At one point Shake was yapping with the Tulsa bench about something, nothing serious just a lil friendly exchange, and then Birt walked up to Shake and got in his face like he was ready to go. Shake returned the stare and for a quick second I thought they were gonna go. Totally uncalled for on Birt's part. He's a punk.

Yes, I did see that. Shake and Birt were staring daggers at each other for a second or two. Glad Shake kept his cool. Showed poise.

Re: Shake and Pat Birt
guessing the Tulsa players were chirping at Shake, probably about him missing a three, saying stuff like "this isn't in Tulsa now" or "should have stayed home"
not sure about the other part

Re: Shake and Pat Birt
Yeah I saw that too and thought it was a strange interaction. Birt seems like a fake tough guy and it pissed me off when I saw him get in Shake's face, but he did hit two big threes to clinch the game for Tulsa, so maybe we should've let our play do the talking.

I thought that might be something that goes back to HS but Birt is from Plano.

Yeah, I saw that too. I like that Shake didn't back down and kept staring at him. My only knock on Shake is that he seems a little "soft" (unfair criticism from afar I know and he is also a freshman). So, like I said, I like what I saw from him in that moment. Good for him.

I think Shake told Birt that he doesnt hold a candle to Jimmy King in the PESH g.o.a.t conversation

I played against Jimmy King my Jr and Sr years. He dropped 40 on us once.

I saw King's last high school game, when they lost to Duncanville at Moody. Ostertag was at Duncanville, then, but the difference in the game was that Duncanville got contributions from everyone on the court, and Plano revolved completely around King, he didnt get much support from his teammates. It was a good game, though, and a good memory.

I don't think Shake is soft at all, he just seems to be a quiet young man that let's his play on the court do the talking for him.

Agree. The stare down said it all and he did not look like a guy who would back down, but I think he showed real poise by keeping his cool. I think he fully understands that with only 7 'ship players, we can't afford to lose anyone even if/when baited by the opposition

Shake is an effortless glider, who always plays damn hard, just looks like he's in a slightly different gear. Always the case w long striders
