Sterling Brown And Harry Froling To Join USA East Coast For Trip To Italy

NEW YORK (SMU) — SMU's Sterling Brown and Harry Froling will join USA East Coast for a basketball trip to Italy from August 6-13. The tour in Italy features stops in Venice, Verona, Milan, Lake Como and Bellagio before returning to New York on August 13.

Brown (6-6, 230) is going on his third international trip. He played for the Global Sports Academy U.S. Team on goodwill tours in 2014 and 2015. Those trips included games in Belgium, Germany, England and the Netherlands. As a junior in 2015-16, Brownaveraged 10.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals. He helped SMU to a 25-5 record and a No. 24 final ranking, winning the Las Vegas Classic championship and reaching as high as No. 8 in the AP poll along the way. He led the American Athletic Conference and set the SMU season record in three-point shooting at 53.6 percent (30-56). He was second in The American in overall shooting percentage at 60.2 (109-181), and hit 85.7 percent at the free throw line.

Froling (6-11, 260) is entering his freshman season for the Mustangs after playing the 2015-16 season with the Townsville Crocodiles in Australia's National Basketball League. He was a teammate with fellow SMU freshman Tom Wilson on the Australian Junior National Team that earned the silver medal at the 2014 U17 World Championship. Froling was one of the top 12 international players on the World Team at the 2016 Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Oregon.
