LEO KONTOPOULOS
How much can y'all tell me about Leo? Will he contribute much this year? I like that he gives us depth with the front court.

He played in Germany. Fran Fraschilla helped place him here.
6'9 will be more of just a practice body, this year. He has a good looking shot. Down the line he could contribute, but for now he is a much needed big body in practice.

I think he will see some playing time as a serviceable big. His video doesn't look bad at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Leo and even Wilfong (occasionally) steal some mins here and there in OOC play, but come Conference time I would be surprised to see him very much, unless we get in big time foul trouble. You could be right, but just not what i've been hearing that he will contribute on an every game basis.
His tape isn't bad, he has some game, just needs to develop a bit more and isn't ready to take mins from any of the 3 bigs we will be playing.
Re: LEO KONTOPOULOS
I feel teams knowing we are thin at post will game plan against us to get our bigs in foul trouble. He could be very useful even just to take about 5-10 minutes per game.

Agreed. That will be key for our Bigs. Teams tried last year as well and it usually didn't work.
I hope Leo can give us 5-10 mins, I'm just repeating what I have heard that he has potential, but isn't ready to play many mins against strong competition.

I did not say that he would "take" minutes from anyone. I just think he would be there to give a big a rest for a few minutes a game and be serviceable while he is doing so.

As a Greek I approve of another Greek in SMU.
