pretty funny how a guy from Texas Tech
can say how bad the behavior of other fans and schools is. Isn't Texas Tech the site of numerous bad incidents over the years particularly with the Aggies?
Re: pretty funny how a guy from Texas Tech
Yeah, I found it ironic too...I seriously doubt the Techies are angels...Bobby Knight has been around so long that for him to say that we were the "worst fans ever" is either 1) a compliment to our fans that can incite him or 2) a lie
Geaux Ponies and Geaux LSU!

Re: pretty funny how a guy from Texas Tech
This isn't so much just basketball, but football as well.
When the band went to Tech this year for our first football game, I wasn't put in the best of moods by Tech fans. I mean, being in band and travelling, you always get looks because we don't dress like your typical band, and then they make comments and whatnot.
Well, after 3 years of this, you'd think I'd be used to it, but BEFORE the game even started, I was moving the big podium down the ramp and on to the field and Tech fans were horrific! So much profanity and rude comments, I mean, what goes through someone's mind to yell at a band kid? I mean, sheesh...
Granted, the band here is pretty mean, but we don't just yell at random people. Gag me... :hmm:

Oh you gotta love it. The horns, the drums, the noise! It's all for the love of music, for the love of the game.

Was that a joke? Cuz, if not he's definitely at Indiana (8-10, losing to Purdue).

word.
Re: pretty funny how a guy from Texas Tech
The band member is right...there were some incredibly profane Tech fans behind our bench at the football game this season. There was a group of guys in black shirts, in particular, that were getting incredibly personal not only with players but with our trainers. They were calling the calling our female trainers "water b**ches" and commenting on their back sides, even dropping the occasional "P-bomb". Maybe if Knight spend 30 seconds in his own school's student section, he'd realize that our students were pretty tame (I was right next to the Tech bench when that happened and I didn't hear anything racist, personal, or whatever else he was complaining about).
I never really liked Knight when he was IU, then I gained quite a bit of respect for him after what he did at Tech in his first year, but now I've lost total respect for him again. He's a sore loser and he just happened to be getting his [deleted] kicked at the time. I have no doubt our fans were talking some kind of crap but nothing like what was coming from their "fans" at the football game.

Not really the SMU halftime speech - but it makes my point.

Peruna's Rolex - you gotta post that on the raiderpower board - then just sit back and enjoy.
