Jalen Lynch
George Lynch's son Jalen is a freshman football player who is a very solid basketball player. He's listed at 6'3 300 lbs on the football website. The kid has soft hands and good post moves. As an emergency depth replacement, he could give them some fouls and inside defense and he knows his way around the basketball court. Was a very good basketball player at St. Mark's and has played a lot of basketball over the years. He's such a big body, I think he'd be a very good fit to add some needed inside depth.

Re: Jalen Lynch
Not sure private school basketball (especially st marks) is the bar we want to use as measurement, but if he can help why not? I think most of our options are going to be about how little can they hurt you while burning up a foul or some buying some rest minutes. I don't think 6.3/300 helps us much. Now 6 8" 300 would be about right....

Not sure how much you follow, but st marks has stepped up their athletics game in the last decade. They decided they wanted to be good.

Pretty sure that the Pikes could put together a basketball team that would wipe out the St. Mark's varsity bball team.

Back in the 90's we couldn't beat the Zetas
Re: Jalen Lynch
Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting he would be in the rotation or would be some kind of savior, but he'd be a competent big body, with some skill and good experience to have on the bench for games when Ben and Semi get into foul trouble or if there was an injury. We're back to last season when we have so few scholarship players, it's big minutes for all the starters rotation guys and you pray there are no injuries or foul trouble. Lynch's size and weight make up for height. He could keep tall, weaker guys away from the basket.
If Ben or Semi twist an ankle in a game, we are in big, big trouble. Very terrible situation for the team.

If we are just putting big guys out there, get Justin Lawler and train him with the Clayton Kovar book on defense

This is one of the more ridiculous suggestions I've ever heard on ponyfans, and that's saying something.

Pretty sure St. Marks has a group of alumni that could "wipe out" the Pikes

Re: Jalen Lynch
LOL, he's listed at 6 ft 3....listed....so that's generous. realistically 6 ft 2...an average size point guard....at 300 lbs.
I think the better option to eat up some fouls is the 6 ft 9 walkon who actually plays basketball.
