Leo - German or Greek?

Post by PonyTime »

Figured this needed it's own thread. Plus, I need to buy the proper flag to replace my Aussie flag.

While he may technically be a German citizen, he is obviously of Greek heritage:

2015-16: Spent the season with the Iraklis Thessaloniki B.C. in Thessaloniki, Greece… Saw action in eight games.

Prep: In 2013, helped his team to the gold medal at the TURK Telekom U16 Tournament in Sakarya, Turkey… Is an active member of PAOK Basketball Club in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Personal: Leonidas “Leo” Kontopoulos was born in August of 1997… From Frankfurt, Germany… Parents are Elferia and Konstantinos Kontopoulos… Has three siblings, two brothers and a sister… Brother Grigoris was a rower.

So he's like the late night Gyro you pick up on the way home from the Hofbra├╝haus? It's Greek but from Germany?

Greece for beaches and Ouzo. Germany for beer and well engineered motorcars.

If they start serving Paulaner at Moody, I will go with German.

Perhaps we could get Dirk to a game if we had a good German Weiss Beer on tap...

You mean: "Can he kugel?"

In other words, is he a kugelmeister?

Considering his height I think he's got decent coordination-maybe in a couple of years of development he might get some playing time
