Good hire by Chad Morris. Traylor will bring a strong in-state recruiting presence.

Can confirm that former Gilmer coach and Texas assistant Jeff Traylor will join the staff at SMU.

Re: Jeff Traylor
He seems to have deep Texas roots as a high school coach. I hope he fixed his special teams issues from his days at UT.

Texas fans seem to think he was one of the best (if not the best) assistants on Charlie Strong's old staff. They were surprised Herman didn't keep him.

Re: Jeff Traylor
SMU has hired former Texas assistant Jeff Traylor, a source confirmed to ESPN. He's expected to coach running backs and receive the title of associate head coach. The longtime Texas high school coach was a valuable recruiter in East Texas for the Longhorns the past two years and will be a nice get for Chad Morris' staff.

I do not believe there is such a thing as a front office recruiting role.

Director of High School Relations (or External Relations). Recruiting Coordinator is usually an on-field Coach so he can recruit off campus. Mark Smith is currently Director of Football Recruiting. Not sure what's up
