ItΓÇÖs becoming increasingly apparent that a confluence of WichitaΓÇÖs recent success, the history of programs with similar profiles and the current trends of the NCAA tournament selection committee will drive the Shockers to a higher-profile conference. Conversations with sources around college sports this week revealed Wichita upgrading its leagueΓÇölikely to the American Athletic ConferenceΓÇöas a distinct possibility in the near future. This could happen in as soon as the next few months or may take a year or two. But the odds are increasing that the Shockers will end up somewhere else, with the AAC offering the highest profile and making the most sense. ΓÇ£It wouldnΓÇÖt be a genuine response if I said we werenΓÇÖt concerned,ΓÇ¥ Elgin said. ΓÇ£We want them to stay. Losing Creighton was a blow to the league. Losing Wichita State would be the same.ΓÇ¥

I kinda want Dayton and VCU as well. That would make for a fun basketball conference (if only we could drop the likes of ECU/Tulane lol)

Would love to add them. Would be a nice top 5 teams. Us, UConn, cincy, Wichita st and Houston.

I hope they bring back football and then add Army as football only members. We need homogeneity in the conference otherwise there will be acrimony much like the old Big East.

As much as I want them in BB I don't want them in FB.

Football would be fine. It is not the same as BB. There is no RPI in football. We need to win games and the more we can win the better.
