On the same AAU team as Kaden Archie. Not a huge offer list with the main ones being Tulsa, UTSA and Illinois St. Had A&M interest. Not sure when we offered.

Got a B+ Grade. Averaged 6PPG 5.4RPG and 1BPG shot 43%.

Watching a kid play for periods of time, there’s this feeling of joy, relief, happiness when you start to see that they are improving and on the right track to become the best version of themselves as a player. The bigger the player, the longer the development takes and this past week at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, 6’9 2018 power forward Jahmar Young showed that he is on that right track to being the player the staff envisions he will become. Young played with energy and finished above the rim on put backs and cuts to the basket. He looked comfortable shooting it from 12 ft out and was rebounding in traffic. The forward out of Desoto, Tx was one of the nine players to record a double-double at the camp this week.. There is still a lot of work to be done for Young, but this was good to see him consistently provide strong performances.

TexasHoops ANALYSIS: A Lanky interior player who gets off the floor in a hurry. Gets rebounds, putbacks, and will use his long reach over his opponents for easy lay-ins. He gets up and down with ease and will get the ball in transition and finish. He has good instincts and blocks shots.

What he's looking forward to in July: "I feel confident. I've been prepared all June to get ready for July. Going to the NBPA camp put me against the best in the country and I took advantage of that. I'm working on my own in the morning to get better at stuff I can't do well. So I really think I'm ready for anything."

How he fits in with a loaded Urban DFW team: "I fit in with Urban because I get defensive stops and set screens and get my teammates open. I like to run the floor and they push the tempo so we can get easy buckets. The teammates I have are greatly skilled and I just fall in as a piece of something great."

Interest & Offers: UTSA was the first program to offer Young, though many more are likely to after the Live Period GASO. Murray State, Texas A&M, Tulsa, and VCU are all interested, and Young revealed he will be on campus in College Station before the summer is out.

What he's working on before the Live Period: "I've been working on my ball handling, my jumper, and blocking more shots. But mostly my shooting."

Right! I don;t mind the take if you pair him with someone like Archie. He seems like a bit of a project, but super bouncy.
