We were tied with A&M at 88 last year - so good to move up and ahead of the Ags.

Theirs is a really weird ranking methodology. Lots if little liberal arts schools scattered in . USNWR separates those out since they are really apples and oranges.

True, but it does give some perspective when TTech is ranked #485.gostangs wrote:Theirs is a really weird ranking methodology. Lots if little liberal arts schools scattered in . USNWR separates those out since they are really apples and oranges.
SMU stays relatively stagnant in both WSJ and USNews. When do we see some much needed improvement?

Nice 7 pt move up when Aggies moved down.
It shows the gulf in Texas public universities. You have UT, then A&M 37 spots lower and then UH 300 spots lower! And Tech 95 spots further down. I suppose UTD is b/w UH and Baylor. Makes sense why students outside the top 10% are going to OU, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss...
Georgia and Florida are even or better than UT.

Re: WSJ Ratings in
Texas public schools are pathetic - particularly when compared to other business center regions (Cali, NC and the NE). Only Rice is top 50 in the entire state of Texas. Terrible and embarrassing.
