One of my first thoughts two days ago: Thank the lord LB left when he did.

I love the guy and will always be grateful for his role in making SMU HOOPS relevant.

But damn.... we'd probably be school # 7, 8 or 9 right about now.

Just sayin.

I doubt Nike was cutting checks for big time recruits to come to SMU, even when LB was here...they've got bigger mouths to feed

Well for your information the reason I said 3 years was because I thought it was 2018. So at least my math was good. I am just living in a medicated state due to back spasms.

Prediction: This will end up pulling in half of each P5 conference, and several non-P5 schools.

Just about every assistant coach who came out of the AAU ranks is going to be guilty in this. Every staff that has a recruiting-focused assistant coach that is well known for their AAU connections is going to be at major risk.

I'll leave it up to you guys to figure out if that description fits anyone who was around here. But I would be very wary moving forward of bringing in ex AAU/HS coaches.

The only system this is going to impact more than the NCAA is the AAU system. A full investigation, if it continues down this path, could result in a significant percentage of the AAU players being ineligible for NCAA play, and will absolutely tear apart that entire system.
