Who?
Yeah.... I'm bored.
I can honestly state that, when the schedule was announced, I had no idea who the first four games are against. Never heard of any of them. No earthly idea what any of those initials stood for ( but can I buy a vowel?)
So I finally looked it all up. For those in similar states of confusion I have listed the actual names of our first four opponents AND their 2017 Ken Pom rankings. No wonder I've never heard of them.
University of Maryland Baltimore County: 201
University of Louisiana, Monroe: 262
Northwestern State: (yeah... ok... what state?): 293
And... apologies to MRydel....
University of Arkansas Pine Bluff: a steaming 348 out of 351 ranked schools.
Four games for the '17-18 Mustangs to get their SH!!t together before it gets real.

Re: Who?
UAPB plays all its non-conference games on the road against good competition and fills their athletic coffers with the money they get for the games. They do pretty well within their conference but typically are 0-10 when their conference games begin. There was one year however that they won a game on the road in non-conference. Remember who that was?

My thoughts as well.
We surely have enough beef on the schedule this year. This will be four opportunities for this team to begin
The process in a "safe" environment.

Re: Who?
The really good thing about the new Moody and state of the bball program is that we don't have to worry about only 1500 showing up for those "no-name" games

C'mon. If you live in Texas, you should know where Northwestern State is. Natchitoches, LA. Lot of Dallas alumni. Fun place. Great crawfish at the Crawfish Shack. Pretty fun place actually.

Same school that upset TCU in football...that was one of the hiccups TCU dealt with while they were trying to become respectable again in football

We smoked that at our place about 4 or 5 years ago.Charleston Pony wrote:Junior wrote:C'mon. If you live in Texas, you should know where Northwestern State is. Natchitoches, LA. Lot of Dallas alumni. Fun place. Great crawfish at the Crawfish Shack. Pretty fun place actually.

I haven't lived in Tx since 1984. But, as I recall, we used to pick mushrooms out that way.
