his #11 needs to be in the rafters along with Ira and Phillips. And I would argue Sasser as well

I love Nic, but I'm of the opinion that you have to be 100% SMU to be honored. I'd put Ben Moore and/or Sterling in before Nic.

Gene Phillips was a stud, scoring large numbers before the 3 point play, and only played 3 seasons for the Mustangs as Frosh were not eligible back in the late 60's? Averaged 26+ for his time on the Hilltop. YES!, his number should be in the rafters.

And Phillips definitely had 3 point range. hard to imagine what kind of scorer he would have been with the 3 pointer in play back then
