Re: Akoy Agau eligibility
I think he got a medical waiver so he can play next year.
Re: Akoy Agau eligibility
His return really depends on who else comes back and whether we sign a big time recruit or transfer.

he has one year left
Re: Akoy Agau eligibility
If the Akoy we have seen the last 2 games is the true player, it would have to be a 4 star big or an elite grad transfer to make them push him out. He's going to help next year a lot more than most freshmen would.

Dude, I'd take 9 and 6 from him every night. He really should be a double-double machine with a few assists and a block or 2 thrown in. Starting or not.
Re: Akoy Agau eligibility
He's quietly making 75% of his FTs too. You can see the polish in his low post moves.

he hit 57 of 67 at Georgetown for 85%--that's what makes him kind of interesting-if he can lose some weight, regain mobility and get off the floor

HeΓÇÖs eligible next year and I doubt seriously they cut him loose at any time. He could be a huge piece in the rotation next year.
Competent bigs are a commodity. We have yet to see what Akoy can bring in a regular basis but you can see it coming. HeΓÇÖs a smart and coach-able guy hampered by a very tough injury/ailment. Let him play.

12 for 19 (63%) from the Field in AAC play including games with 9, 9, and 8 points. Last nite though the 6 rebounds were a definite step up. Another big improvement is he hasn't had a turnover in last 3 games (44 minutes)-he was really struggling with turnovers earlier. He had 10 Turnovers in First 100 minutes-and doesn't really handle the ball that much

Re: Akoy Agau eligibility
I remember the people (lots of them) who were all wanting us to chase Emelogu off and we see how his senior year has turned out...
Akoy showed some of what he can do last night and he is still playing around 50-60%. People can talk about cutting him loose, but there is NO WAY Jank will chase him off. Only way Akoy isn't back is if he gets hurt again and retires. If he can actually avoid a major injury he could be a real contributor for us as a Senior. He had 3- double digit rebound games in the Big East last year and 6 8+ rebound games. He can play just like Gu can. Would be foolish to chase him off.
We will still have one open spot for next season, since Shake 99% won't be back, to give to a late decommit or a transfer.
