Injury watch

Post by skyscraper »

Will we have enough players for Wednesday night vs Memphis?
Jank alluded to others being banged up and still playing. Said we only have two healthy guys.

It seems unlikely Shake is coming back.
Chargois had a boot on. Seems unlikely he plays.
Emelogu has been messing with his hand/wrist for a few games. Will he keep getting out there?

Worst case scenario:

Agau
Douglas
Landrum
McMurray
Whitt

Pyle
Wilfong

@AdamGrosbard:
Tim Jankovich says on KAAM 770-AM that SMU didn't practice today because it only had three players physically able to practice. Says he feels like SMU was actually four starters down yesterday because Ben Emelogu can't shoot with right hand injury

@AdamGrosbard:
Tim Jankovich says "I doubt" Shake Milton plays in SMU-Memphis on Wednesday. Says he's got "fingers crossed" for Ethan Chargois' status. Would be fourth straight game without Milton, SMU's leading scorer

time to throw in the towel? Memphis was a home game we really needed to win but I'm not sure we win another game at this point if we are going to struggle to put 5 scholarship players on the court at the same time. Might be time to bring out the intramural all-stars to see if we can put a competitive team on the floor

Never throw in the towel - the committee recognizes injuries. If a miracle happened and Shake, Ethan, Gu are ready to play after Memphis and we go on a run including beating Wichita here, we are back in the conversation. But that is a lot of IFs.

more likely our route would be to get healthy and win the AAC Tourney rather than an at-large NCAA invitation

Really hope Chargois can go. The team could really use a win.

Unless we beat Wichita State (and maybe Houston) while avoiding a bad loss to USF or ECU, I think that's our only hope. (Maybe with a deep AAC tournament run?)

Given the committee's past treatment of the AAC, it may be our only hope at this point regardless.

Given the committee's treatment of the AAC and SMU in particular in the past, we have NO CHANCE without winning the AAC Tourney
