aTm and ut are 7 and 10 seeds and NOT playing each other???

If they had placed them together playing in Dallas, that would have been quite the ticket...

They must've thought St. Mary's was SMU.

A lot of talk about St Mary's weak non-conference schedule but of course no talk about how the big schools won't schedule them. It's really tough for teams like St Mary's and Middle Tennessee who have been strong in their conferences for years to schedule P5 schools. Some won't even play them on the P5's home court. College of Charleston ran into huge scheduling problems back in the 90's when they were giant killers...especially after they beat Bobby Kremins' highly ranked Ga Tech team in Atlanta. I remember A.D telling me he was begging Kentucky for a game in Lexington but they would not play the Cougars. System is basically stacked against the little guys but having said that, there will be some good 1st round and play in games as always

Going forward there needs to be a way for mid-majors to leave 3-4 openings in their schedule the second half of the season to schedule each other so that they can add quadrant one victories to their schedule. Have St. Mary's play Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky, New Mexico State, etc.

We obviously don't deserve a spot, but I'll be damned if we didn't beat some pretty good tournament teams this year.

That was the original goal of the Bracket Buster games. What killed it was:
1) The bigger midsize conferences (MVC, MWC, etc) stopped participating.
2) Home teams were reluctant to give return games the following season.
3) Participating conferences wanted all their teams to play (not just top 2-3) so the schedule became massive with a lot of matchups involving losing teams.

Apparently St Mary's turned down games against Creighton and Rhode Island, among others, this year.

SMU had stated no interest in either CBI or CIT but New Orleans is in the CBI and La-Monroe in the CIT. Only 4 of the 12 AAC teams playing in post season this year
