In the 80ΓÇÖs
Under Chad Morris werenΓÇÖt our classes typically ranked in the 80ΓÇÖs or worse?
WeΓÇÖre now 39th on scout. I know itΓÇÖs early but still impressive.

Wait until the end of the season and don't forget to look up the ranking by offer. Need to have apples to apples comparisons.

Yes, we will drop once the Big boys get going, but fun while it lasts. Any chance we land a 4* this class? Ranking subject to number of commits rather than pure quality.

Re: In the 80ΓÇÖs
Based on recent years a class with an 82.75 average star rating would finish right around No. 75 in the Country-but again there are always upgrades and - and of course the better P5 classes always get raided late in the recruiting season
On Rivals we are currently No. 44 at a 2.44 average star rating which coincidentally would place this class at No. 81 and was the exact same average star ranking SMU's class and 81 ranking SMU had last year.
If you go to the 2018 recruiting thread you'll see that at about this time last year (June 22), SMU's Class was ranked No. 29 on Rivals and 47 on 247.com

Great start to 2019 class and we have some good Mo right now. Its always about where you finish, not where you start, however, and we need to have a decent season and along with this kind of recruiting effort to truly land a top 3 AAC class and get into the 60's range overall. I believe Coach SD and staff can do it.....can't wait for the opener against UNT.

Since you posted this, I think our average star rating has gone up a little. But given what you're seeing, what are your thoughts? We're about on par with last year and if it holds, will be a pretty solid class? Just honestly trying to get your take as I respect your opinion. What are your thoughts on what SD is doing now (with the jucos and GTs also, etc?).

Re: In the 80ΓÇÖs
Another question would be star ratings (which I realize are not the best way to rank - but it is interesting comparative data).
We currently have all three stars, plus one unranked. If I remember correctly that was not case in past years. I realize as we get closer we may have to back fill with good 2's, but if we finish out wth three stars I don't see how we wouldn't be higher than the last couple of years.

Re: In the 80ΓÇÖs
One of the challenges is that the star rating system can vary pretty wildly from year to year. That's why a combination of offers and ratings across the services is the best measure.
