Three 2 point games

Post by Sam I Am »

The last three games have been played very, very close. We won one and lost two, but the pattern of play has changed enough to acknowledge that the coach credit has adjusted something to give the ponies a chance to win lately. I am not a Dement supporter convert, but fair is fair when giving credit where it may be due.

Very big of you, SIA. A lot of us complained when our guys got thumped a few times. We do need to admit that they're playing much better.

I thought the game plan against Nevada was good, but I'm a little puzzeled why SMU didn't play an up-tempo game against Fresno. Fresno had 7 scholarship players that just played a 2 overtime game against LaTech.

In the first half, SMU took quick shots and sat back in their defense. It looked like SMU tried to speed up the tempo in the second half, but at that time, I thought it was too late. Also, why not work the ball inside more; make the Fresno big men work.

My thoughts exactly Crong - they had 7 players. I don't think we work it enough inside. We got Nevada's big men in foul trouble getting it inside. Castro ain't the best but he does have a few moves around the basket. Seems like we get away from that and launch 3's if things aren't working rather than keep at it.
