Everett Ray
I hope someone can answer a couple of questions about Everett Ray.
Has he been dropped from the team? I notice his name is not on the official roster on
SMUMUSTANGS.com.
The reason I ask is that I watched him shooting practice shots at Moody tonight when the team was
in the locker room. Of course no one was guarding him but he was moving very well and was
hitting about 80% of the 3 point shots he was taking (40 to 50 shots). He looked more athletic
than I remembered.
Perhaps I missed the news - have they red-shirted him until next year and that is why he's not
on the roster?

I see him on the roster.
Also, found this interesting...from August 2018, "Ray is one class away from entering the business school, where he can pursue his desired degree in finance. He joins teammates James Pyle and Luke Wilfong in pursuing a finance degree, and a line of successful former Mustangs. David Miller, a member of SMU's 1972 conference championship team who serves on the Board of Trustees and is a successful venture capitalist in the field of oil and gas, has been a mentor for Ray as he navigates both basketball and business."

He's on the roster still....
When NBA scouts came to watch practice before his freshman year, they said he was the best NBA prospect on the team... and that was with Shake and Foster on the roster. He has a great motor and his dad played in the league.

That way the new coach can complain about lack of players.

Re: Everett Ray
My error. When I was looking at the roster I was thinking "Wray" instead of "Ray" even though I spelled it correctly in the title of this thread I've beenreading too much FBI stuff.
No one has answered my question about whether he has been red-shirted or not.
I was still impressed by watching him practice.

He has been on the bench for every game.
Out for the year, right?

I don't think a formal statement about that has ever been issued. I had heard February previously, but I would think you would grab a medical redshirt with limited chance of making the post-season.
