CONFUSED: Where were all the Students Dykes keeps thanking?

I am so confused.

All I am hearing is all the thanks for the 2,000 students that went to the game?????

WTF? Seems to me it was more like 200!!!

Can someone explain what he is thanking them for???

It was explained in another thread that the students moved to the shady side to get out of the sun. The 2000 is based on actual student ID scans.

Seemed like a decent student turnout ΓÇö many were on the hill in the south end zone.

Some of yΓÇÖall make me wonder if you were actually inside the stadium last night.
The students were all over the hill and the home side seating yesterday. Which makes sense because it was very hot and the east side wasnΓÇÖt in the shade until mid second quarter.
Like I said in the other thread, I was in 102 and at least 1/3 of the section was groups of students occupying rows of seats that are usually empty. The ones around me were into the game and cheering, which was nice to see.

Over 30% of undergrad population showed for this game and my guess would be that's a pretty competitive percentage compared to almost any school in the country

I have never understood the logic for punishing the students and the band by banishing them to the far corners of the stadium.

Lots of students in 106, 107, 207. Very enthusiastic, pretty entertaining and into the game. And.... most stayed until the end of the game - well, 4-5 minutes remaining. That was encouraging. Hope they come back over Saturday.

Yep, there were 5 students sitting beside me in 204. And very active yelling and actually watching the game. Left mid 4th Quarter.
