Arky State, North Texas State and Texas State beat. Big step up in competition on the road. TCU's defense crushed Purdue's offense on the road last night, holding a potent offense to 204 total yards.

Re: OFFICIAL: Frog & Pony Show Predictions
PurdueΓÇÖs starting QB was out with a concussion. With that said, TCU is obviously a big time step up in competition from what weΓÇÖve faced the past 3 weeks. TheyΓÇÖre a bit in flux at QB but have legit playmakers at skill positions and we know PattersonΓÇÖs defense will be stout. IΓÇÖll say this is the game our atrocious kicking game costs us, 31-30 TCU

35-31 SMU. Buchelle and Jones/McDaniel get back to business. Defense focuses on the run and forces the QB to have to proof himself which he miserably fails.

All true. But the kicker isnΓÇÖt a self-reportΓÇö-thatΓÇÖs *so* basketballΓÇöitΓÇÖs instead a 9,500 crowd for Tulsa after wins at TCU and then USF. But maybe notΓÇöat least the Rangers suck this year.

Our offensive line has been very good for two straight games. This is going to be a great test of our offence and okay defense against their great defense and okay offense.
At the end of the day, I think special teams cost us the win. SMU 26, TCU 30

Re: OFFICIAL: Frog & Pony Show Predictions
If I'm being honest, this one is pretty difficult to pick.
The good news is that TCU doesn't seem to have a QB and, outside of Reagor, are stuggling at WR. The bad news is that as a result they just lined up and ran it right down Purdue's mouth using a slightly-better-than-average Oline and Anderson. So that may play to our strengths. I expect us to begin by pretty much selling out on the run, using our platoon of Dlinemen and playmaking linebackers, and if Stephens can shut down Reagor like he shut down Bussey, then watch for 8 in the box at some point with Denbow cheating up more. I'd like to see Moore make some more noise. We can shut them down, however.
TCU is, again, strong on defense. They've shut down flipping Arkansas Pine Bluff and a Purdue team that, while they have talent, didn't have a starting QB. So I feel confident they haven't seen a team with our overall skill position talent, not by a long shot. I'm also not sold on Brohm as a HC, so we'll see about that, too. But our offensive line has to have grown up, and after three games then they should have no excuses - Texas State actually has a competent defense with no offensive help, so they haven't just performed against scrubs. The receivers are going to have their hands full - apparently the Dbacks for TCU are excellent. So we have got to find some 1-on-1 matchups to take advantage of, and that could be hard to come by.
They struggled on ST, too, last year and have much the same issues we have. Hopefully we can friggin' snap a ball to a holder by Saturday.
I don't expect this to be too high scoring on either side, but I'll be optimistic.

I believe we've faced tougher competition than they have and have more game experience. They're disorganized on offense and haven't faced an offense as good as ours. Sonny has been holding back on the play calling. We'll pull away in the second half.

The line starts at -9.5 in TCUs favor. I like those odds for betting. I really hope we can just beat them!
