Is Bue SMU Football's version of Nic?
I had a good PFs poster throw out a comparison to me that I think deserves a mention on the board. Is Bue SMU Football's version of Nic Moore - a transfer who has completely changed the program? Nic's greatness evolved, and Bue came in with a bigger reputation but both are big time leaders, and the results speak for themselves.

Let's see how the season plays out...remember, we had Gilbert before we had Buechele and he was a pretty good leader as well. Nic had a heck of a surrounding cast compared to Gilbert, but both those guys teams put players in the pros.

Not yet, Moore dominated the conference for 3 years and Buechele hasn't played a single AAC game yet.

You mean the pied piper transfer who brings the program back, only to see the coach leave and it all fall apart shortly thereafter? I hope not.LA_Mustang wrote:I had a good PFs poster throw out a comparison to me that I think deserves a mention on the board. I think Roberson gets credit for being the pied piper transfer. Bue came to throw deep balls to him or at least it sounds like that was part of Sonny's pitch. And yes, if this winning streak continues, other schools are going to try to steal Sonny away. Hope we are prepared to fight to keep him and his staff together.

Don't overlook what the right head coach can do for a program. Sonny appears to be on the way to one-upping LB. He can both bring donuts and keep his nose clean. But both coaches have traits sorely lacking in some other folks we've had (yeah....or HAVE) running these programs.
