Adding Davis is huge because it gives us a true point guard. In addition, our best player Tyson Jolly who is a combo guard can now shift to shooting guard which is more of his natural position. As a result Jolly can focus on scoring, Davis can focus on distributing the basketball, which should help cut down our turnovers. Also, Bandoumel moving to the bench gives us a stronger bench and adds much needed depth. Soon enough, this team will add Jasey to add depth and improve our already good defense. If we can somehow get McNeil, I really think we would have a legit shot at the NCAA tournament. As it stands, we do have a shot. I'm excited for SMU basketball for the first time since Shake played his last game for SMU.

As for Davis: I agree this is huge. We now have a pass first point guard. Get ready for a lot more aerial circus! Hunt, Mike, Jolly, C4 to the hoop.

Only (slight) downside is on D where we’ve been able to switch in every pick. Nobody shorter than 6’4ΓÇ¥ just ended. But it’s a seriously positive development.

And if we happen to get McNeil the Jank excuse machine just hit a brick wall.
