Jahnaria Brown Joins 2020-21 Signing Class

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Women's Basketball Head Coach Travis Mays announced the signing of Jahnaria Brown, increasing the 2020-21 signing class to four additions.

Brown, a 6-3 forward, averaged 13.4 points and 8.7 rebounds in 29 games as a sophomore at Georgia Highlands College. She shot 50.7 percent from the field and had 30 steals and 34 blocks on the defensive end of the floor.

"We could not be more excited about the addition of Jahnaria to our team! JB is an experienced leader who loves the game," Mays said of Brown. "She is an elite offensive threat as well as a defensive presence. JB will be an excellent rebounder in the AAC. We are excited to add a versatile talent like JB to our team!"

Brown was named 3A Region Player of the Year in 2017 after leading Bleckley County High School to the region championship as a junior. The Cochran, Ga., native also earned all-state accolades during her career.
