If true, I sure hope there is a 6'8" - '6'9" banger ready to backfill his roster spot who will be eligible and ready to play for SMU assuming we have a 2020-2021 season!

Probably best for both sides. CJ was never going to be a star at SMU, but he definitely got better as the season went along last year, and I certainly agree with Charleston Pony, hoping there's a big guy out there looking for a place to play. I don't even care if he's a big scoring threat. I'd be thrilled with a Jordan Tolbert type, a guy who lives for rebounds and defense.

Good luck to CJ, wherever he ends up.

Much improved last season, probably saw a numbers crunch. Would love to get a big.

I just wish everyone on the roster would improve as much as C.J. did between his FR and SO seasons. He will be an asset to some mid-major program and wish him well but yes, he could see the writing on the wall with McNeill now eligible.

CJ got [deleted] on a lot by our fans, and I never had high expectations for him since we were his only offer, but he was actually growing into the role we asked him to play. There are a lot worse 10th/11th men out there on rosters. I wish CJ nothing but the best.

No question, but we have plenty of end of the bench players already and needed to open up a couple scholarships. Other players still on the roster contribute less than CJ, but his moving on is still great for both parties. We need a stud big.

Looks like he is Arkansas-Little Rock bound. Wish him well there. I do think he improved tremendously between his frosh and soph seasons. Maybe the most improved guy on our team last year.
