Really disappointed!
Now this is truly something to be disappointed about. Even if not true, it is very disappointing to see our players put themselves in that kind of situation.

Whoa, chill. I'm disappointed to see the suit, but let's not make assumptions about anything.
Re: Really disappointed!
Nobody is making any assumptions. Nonetheless, it is terribly disappointing to see our players put themselves in this type of situation. Whatever the truth is, I hope our administration does the right thing.

Can't read
. I would be very surprised and disappointed if SMU did not conduct an appropriate investigation.

Would be seriously disappointed if we behaved, in any fashion, like those evil reprobates in Waco.

Why was the victim described as 'cisgendered'? Is there something to read between the lines?

I think it is a good idea for the media to be specific in order to avoid any prejudice or bias in the reader.
It also helps alleviate any confusion interpreting subsequent pronouns in the article.

You can read anything in the DMN for free simply by using the reader view in your browser. I kind of hate to say this out loud for fear they'll find me out, ha

I believe cisgendered just means she's a biological female who identifies as a female.

ΓÇ£The lawsuit alleges that the school didnΓÇÖt follow its own investigation policies.ΓÇ¥
This is a serious criminal offense, exactly what type of investigation was SMU responsible for? ShouldnΓÇÖt that be the responsibility of the the UPPD?
I see this over and over again. Guess what, Penn St, Baylor, SMU, the Catholic Church, etc etc etc....theyΓÇÖre all conflicted. They try to cover up and it only makes matters worse, including when the inevitable financial settlements occur.

Re: Really disappointed!
Those two eyewitnesses with conflicting stories better be legit or I'll be really disappointed in the way SMU handled this.

We have Title IX investigation policies for these types of events. The suit alleges we did not follow them. Again, let's not jump to conclusions. Let the process play out.
