Will Young be on scholarship? If so we have 1 left, if not we have 2 left. I want another PF and depending on the Weathers' eligibility would like another SF. We better file requests for waivers for the brothers A.S.A.P.

Read an article (with I could find it again) about how this is the new college basketball now. Coaches are going to spend as much time dealing with the portal as they do recruiting. Not a whole lot of 4 year players on one team.

I don't think we have a scholarship problem right now. Tabor and Young are not scholarship guys. So we likely are at 11-12 right now. Not done recruiting yet. Not sure that McBride stays if his spot becomes important. Two years on scholarship and he has not played. I am not sure Jasey counts against the 13 since his eligibility was used up, except for the extra COVID year, so my guess as we are 11, assuming Davis returns.

Young may or may not get a scholarship. Jasey doesn't count against the limit as he is a returning super Senior. PONY94 said on another site that Lundblade is a walk on so that is another scholarship. We still have at least one if not two scholarships available for additions to the team.

Wasn't sure whether Young had been awarded a 'ship. I see plenty of of scoring coming in (and returning if K.D. returns). I'd still like to see another blue collar defender/rebounder but I do like what this roster looks like.

Just curious: who has the final say on if a player in the portal can come back -- is it the player or the team/coach? Or is he gone no matter what the minute he enters the portal?

I believe that once a player enters the portal the school has to want the player back in order for that player to return so it has to be mutual. If a player decides he wants to come back but the school already fill the scholarship or wants to use it for another player then that player is left without a seat at the table in this game of musical chairs.

I think that's pretty much the case. Plenty of guys have entered the portal and then decided to stay at their original school. I expect the coaching staff has to want him back and be willing to renew his 'ship but of course the player has to decide he doesn't like his other options. Let's just hope we have upgraded from Chargois & Jolly as I assume the staff would have welcomed them back. Considering where the others have landed, I'm thinking this recruiting season has gone pretty well.
