He's rich and retired. In his circumstances, I'd be drowning Roberts every night, too. He's an odd dude, but he got us back to bowl games after other coaches didn't. I'm now disappointed if we don't make a bowl, and life is more fun this way.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

On balance, I do think June was good for SMU's football program despite how he left it. I just wish he had been more committed, had put together a better staff and had done a better job of selling SMU. I felt his ego made him think recruits would want to come to SMU simply because he was our coach so as Stallion and others pointed out time after time, he was a pretty lazy recruiter
