Scary backwoods trap game, with Uncle Billy Joe officiating. This will be their biggest home game of the season. They ran SMU out of the stadium, in the Frisco Bowl and Skip Holtz is still the head coach. Forecast of thunderstorms and high humidity. SMU 15 point favorite.....what do ya think?

Sonny's going to to be p*ssed by weak effort for the first 2/3 of ntsu game and have flashbacks of his first game at SMU. He will not have this team looking past LaTech to the tadpoles. Count on the puppy dogs to be trampled by the Mustangs.

I think we will be lucky to win by a field goal. La Tech is very good and I'm still not sure if we are anything beyond a 6-6 bowl team. I'm more confident in beating TCU just because of the rivalry.

Given the score between MS State and LA Tech (Tech lost by 1 on the road), I am not sure how this is a 15 point spread. 2-0 MS State also has a W over NC State (who pummeled USF 45-0 in game 1).

I am going to suspect that this is a close game on the road. SMU pulls out a 4 point road W.

I also suspect that Sonny is holding out some of the offense in these first games saving for TCU game (where we could see a very different offense from SMU).

This is our game to win or lose. It depends if we show up for 4 quarters or decide to wait til the middle of third.

I know it looks scary but a few things. While LA Tech went into SEC Miss St and lost by 1. Miss St. barely did anything against NC St. (24-10) at home in which NC St only played USF.

LA Tech barely squeezed by at home vs SE LA (FCS) 45-42.

The good news is they don't look like they have much of a pass defense so hopefully we can air it out better than last time and run the ball when get out of the box. I'm trusting that while a road game there's a chip on this teams shoulder from the debacle of the Frisco bowl.

Prediction: 56-35 SMU. I will caveat if we only show up for half a football game then 27-24 SMU.
