Re: Meet the Mustangs: Rob Lanier
Shades of Larry Brown's "We're going to play man...and pick you up at the airport" when Lanier said something to the effect that "the court is 94 feet and we'll pick you up at 94 feet". Then a little bit of Sonny Allen's Run, Sonny Run program of yesteryear when he added that "when we get the ball we are going to get it up the floor and score as quickly as possible"
As for recruiting, he says he's looking for what everyone else in the country is looking for: talented perimeter players who can shoot and athletic bigs who can move and play pick and roll basketball. I do like the fact that he wants to focus on local talent while casting a wide net through the portal and internationally but hopefully he can keep top Metroplex talent from leaving the area. Keep building on the "SMU is Dallas' school" until we actually have a shot at becoming the Duke of Dallas...and maybe Lanier becomes our next Doc Hayes

Exactly what I thought, re: 94 feet.
Impressive speaker - looking forward to seeing his staff and roster.

So Hart says Lanier was on his radar last Tuesday. Wow, way to be prepared
. Here's hoping Lanier will get the job done. It's who we got.

The search committee was collecting candidates. They don't all emerge on Day 1. He seems impressive at the podium. Hope he's just as impressive on the sideline.

Watched him on YouTube and was impressed. I wish him great success.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Rick Barnes said "I'm confident there are great things in store on the hardwood in Dallas."Hoss wrote:He seems impressive at the podium. Hope he's just as impressive on the sideline.
