Good work by CBS.
Rice is not bowl eligible.
And UTSA had a 10 win season. They are a really good team.

Rice will be made eligible as the highest APR 5 win team.

Re: Bowl projections - final week
I'd love the one in Annapolis ( short trip for me). But for optics, I would love to play Rape U or the Sand Aggies. Not Rice, no one would be at the game.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Please, a team from a Power 5 conference, for visibility, etc. Any Pac-12 team would be even better, IMO, for obvious reasons...

We really need to win a bowl game as we haven't done it since like 2012. I'll take a more sure win then a really competitive one. We need to keep the momentum going into next year. Either get a low P5 or an easy G5. If we get UTSA, we better win for optics sake.

The American has bowl tie-ins with the Big XII, SEC & ACC but nothing with any PAC-12 or Big 10 teams. Syracuse, Louisville & Wake Forest are all 7-5 in the ACC. Texas Tech & Okie State are 7-5 and Baylor, Kansas and OU are 6-6. Kentucky finished 7-5 and Arkansas, Florida and Missou all 6-6. Any of those teams would be good to play.

Which one of those teams do you think we would beat? We haven't won a bowl game since 2012, you better pray to the football gods, that we get matched up with a team we can beat. Doesn't do us any good, to play one of those teams you mentioned and get curb stomped, while finishing with a 7-6 record.

The ACC is trash this year and IΓÇÖd expect SMU to beat any of those four. You canΓÇÖt just go by record, either; the Kansas that beat Houston and Duke hasnΓÇÖt been seen since TCU took out their QB.
