ESPN2 between games right now. Utah State beat WASU 82-73 in the consolation game and Utah State returned to form with 6 guys scoring in double figures as they hit 11-17 threes. Makes you appreciate how good our defense has been in this tournament. Iona beat Pepperdine 76-66 in the 5th place game. Two really good wins for this team so far. Our game should start about 8:00 central

physical game with plenty of misses from short range; this could be a battle of attrition with Lanier already giving 10 guys minutes and Hawaii has played 9 guys. Have to earn every point tonight

Hawaii backcourt is back in second half but now down by nine in this low scoring affair.

Phelps really started feeling it those last 4 minutes and pretty much took over this game. I've noticed he's really improved and can go strong to his left which he didn't do last year. Makes him much tougher to guard. Another good defensive effort holding Hawaii to 24% shooting. That's been the key to this team's improvement as they are making opponents work really hard for everything. Nice to be able to go 10 deep and get enough quality bench minutes to keep everyone reasonably fresh
