As a freshman in 2022-23, Edwards was listed at 6-3 and 188 pounds. He appeared in 14 games for the Volunteers, averaging:

He shot 50% (6/12) from the floor, including 40% (2/5) on three pointers, and 75% (3/4) on free throws. He had 6 assists, 5 turnovers, 1 blocked shot and 1 steal.

247 scouting report from high school paints him as a drive and pass-first (before shooting) PG with very good control of the ball and floor. So that clicks with ΓÇ£true PG.ΓÇ¥

Hope so. Zhuric was terrific defensively and can create his own shots but by the end of last season couldn't make FTs and was forcing everything offensively/ Hope Lanier can build team chemistry as that appeared to be one thing he did really well last year. Effort was always there but talent was a step behind our competition.

I’m also really curious what we might see with Sam Williamson’s shooting and Xavier Foster’s overall ability and availability. Sam has a beautiful stroke, he’s just been dealing with nerve issues in his wrist that I can imagine is impacting his touch (after all, your nerve endings are your “touch”). If that comes back, man, he could be really good. And Xavier was like an unwrapped present on Christmas Day…eager to see what he can do when healthy. Since he’s has seen so little action now for years, I’ll temper my expectations for a raw version of size and athleticism. But even that can impact a game provided he’s got some basketball IQ.

It seems like the pieces to a legit team are coming together. Having defined roles, guys buying into roles and the team - all which you lay out above - PLUS the team defense taking a step forward - are also things that will have to happen. And with a bunch of new pieces that will take some coaching.

Great pick ups in transfer portal but the key to next year is XAVIER FOSTER. I think he is gonna kill it next year. On paper team is coming together! Just hit on the ΓÇÿ24 & ΓÇÿ25 high school recruiting classes.

I thought we only had 5 'ships to replace with Nutall, Odigie & Agunanne having exhausted their eligibility and Todorovic and Koulibaly in the portal. I don't think Lanier requires a 'ship but isn't McBride still counting against the 13 limit?
