TCU & Baylor continue to do everything possible to keep us where we are.

Sonny just might be concerned about how continuing to play SMU might affect his job standing at TCU. At least our guys will have an opportunity these next 2 years

A real shame, but can't say I'm shocked. So many of the things that make college football great are being cast aside with all the realignment and TV money stuff.
Re: TCU "pausing" series with SMU -- 2025 last game on sched
There have been grumblings at TCU for some time about having us on their schedule so this doesn't surprise me in the least. Little by little college football is being destroyed by the ever greedier athletic administrators, the broadcast networks, and small petty little men like the AD and coaches at TCU.

This makes me sad. Always look forward to the game. Hopefully we can keep playing you in basketball

The remaining three Rapegate lawsuits that have not been settled from a civil side are being fought tooth and nail by BU. While the appearance of "things are better now for coeds at BU" is the mantra, In fact the above link was generated by these three unsettled suits.
Baylor is purely evil in their handling of this entire affair.

My guess is that's unlikely. Hate to say it.

I hate that I agree. This is 100% about getting another home game at Amon Carter every year. About the best you can hope for would be a two-for-one down the line and I'm not sure SMU would want to do that. Anyway it's a sad day

I hate this, but I (unfortunately) kind of see the TCU perspective also. Even though we have won 2 of the last 3 games, it's been a rather lopsided rivalry in their favor since the early 90s. It is generally a bigger rivalry for us than it is for them and they are truly in a lose-lose situation regarding this game when it comes to optics. It is not radically different than the way we view the UNT game: their super bowl, looks terrible when we lose, were supposed to beat them when we do, etc.
Also, I could be wrong on this, but I would predict TCU has had as much success as they are going to have for the next decade and they will likely plateau or slowly trend down, while all signs point to SMU trending in the right direction.
No matter, I do think the Iron Skillet is good for both teams, fans, and DFW in general and it will be missed.
