From the DMN:
UT-El Paso’s Billy Gillispie will become Texas A&M’s next men’s basketball head coach and will be introduced at a news conference at 3 p.m. today at Reed Arena. "Obviously, certainly we would have liked to have him stay," UTEP athletic director Bob Stull said. "We had a great year and he did a tremendous job." Gillispie, 44, led UTEP to the biggest turnaround in the nation this season.
A&M to name Gillispie as next head coach at 3pm

A&M is a graveyard. That's not to say that Gillespie won't turn that program around on a short term basis. I think SMU has more potential to be a more competitive program than A&M. A&M competes in the BIG 12 and there is no way that A&M can be consistently competitive in that conference over the long term.
