According to his Twitter account, defensive end Jayden Jones announced he is entering the transfer portal.

"I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility. Thank you for everything SMU!"

"Mustang family,
First off I want to say thank you to god and the opportunity that he has given me and will continue to bless me with. Next I want to thank Coach Lashlee, Coach Symons, Coach Hunley and all the other coaches and staff of SMU for what they provided in me and how they believed in me. To the strength staff and athletic training staff I want to thank them for helping me with my body over the years and providing me with the necessities to keep myself healthy. Now I feel that over the years I have played football so I can get to the next level and I feel .. to continue this dream it would be in my best efforts to go and find a new home for myself. SMU will always be a place I call home as I spent the last four years here and built a bond that will never be broken. With that being said I will be entering my name in the transfer portal as a grad transfer with 1 year of eligibility left.
