Did anyone catch Dateline last night. Dan Rather did a special on the designer drug "Ecstasy". I couldn't believe they credit a Dallas Businessman and SMU in particular for the drugs beginnings from obscurity to mainstream pop culture.

I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know if that speaks well or ill of our chemistry department. At least they're creative.

Yeah, I watched it. Evidently Dallas was responsible for the huge growth in use in the early 80's. Before that it was used just for psychiatric reasons. Heck, it was legal until 1986. I heard you could walk into a bar in Dallas back then and it was in a bowl like peanuts or pretzels.
