VIDEO: Rhett Lashlee breaks down recruiting class

Post by PonyPride »

VIDEO: SMU football head coach Rhett Lashlee met the media Wednesday to discuss the Mustangs' 2025 recruiting class — both high school players and transfers — and how the Mustangs' move to the ACC has affected the way SMU coaches have been received on the recruiting trail.

ΓÇ£Stars ΓÇô you donΓÇÖt know if theyΓÇÖre right or wrong for about 3 years.ΓÇ¥

Remember all those years when we looked at opponents and thought “those guys are huge”?? Imagine Sione Ma’u (6’6” 360) and Abel Hoopii (6’4” 330) lined up on the same side of the offensive line … especially after they grow into their frames a little

ΓÇ£As of today, it looks like weΓÇÖre going to stay intact (on the coaching staff)ΓÇ¥ ΓÇô still expecting departures?

RBs talk mentioned LJ Johnson, Derrick McFall, CJ Johnson and Chunky Green. No mention of Rooster Knighton or Camar Wheaton. TheyΓÇÖre both still on the on-line roster, but itΓÇÖs still last yearΓÇÖs roster.

Sounds like coach is counting on production in the 2-deep and on special teams from several of the new guys. Will be interesting to see whether K.J clicks immediately with any of the young WRs. Let's hope Maryland comes back and can play at the same level he did before his injury. That would be huge for next year's offense. Schedule is definitely going to be tougher in ACC play and if we can't compete for a conference title I just want to beat both TCU and Baylor
