Per ESPN.com, Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava wants a new NIL deal.

Come to think of it, so do I ... but that seems significantly less likely.

Tennessee moving on from him and I would guess teams will be very hesitant about signing him. Don't know about the kid and his family but it would appear his agent might be doing him a disservice if he is the one driving this. I noted Lashlee's comments about there being plenty of good agents but some that are spewing disinformation about what a player is worth. Team chemistry and culture are so important these days and for most kids it is still about taking advantage of scholarships and some NIL money to get a good education while making connections that could help them in their careers after football.

I have to think there will be some negative financial experiences for some players getting bad advice from unscrupulous and/or incompetent agents. With so many players in the portal year after year, I expect there are plenty of players in position to be taken advantage of. As Lashlee said, there are plenty of good agents but also plenty or questionable people getting into the business of shopping these young athletes
