Post by PonyPride »

VIDEO: SMU defensive coordinator Scott Symons met the media to discuss his early impressions of the Mustangs' revamped defense, which position groups face the biggest changes from a year ago, which former player is helping out on a volunteer basis and which players are taking on larger leadership roles.

Love it when I hear a guy talk about how happy he is to be here and what a great culture Lashlee is building. Continuity is so important and he's right that a lot of position coaches are doing a great job developing guys and helping to bring this team together. Of course he's also right that those guys are deserving of bigger and better jobs as their careers continue. The more success we have the harder it will be to sustain that level of success as guys move on to bigger jobs.

Agreed. The fact that someone like Warren Messer left to take another job and then returned just one year later speaks volumes about what goes on inside the program.

We have 6 DT's in the 315 to 320 range then three more below 305 to 290 range. The 6 are the older ones and the rest can grow a bit. Thicken up so to speak.

That is a good rotation to keep the front fresh.... That is if all of them are players.

We lost 330 to 350 up front. Symons will figure it out.

Also see some 250 to 260 on the edges. Every team is different so let's see how it unfolds.
