Equestrian schedule announced

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU equestrian head coach Brad Kearns announced the schedule for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday, consisting of five away meets and five battles on the Hilltop.

Nine of SMU's ten regular-season meets are against opponents who finished in the top ten in the NCEA final poll. The Mustangs are coming off a successful season, earning a 12-5 record with an unblemished 7-0 home mark. The team competed in the 2025 NCEA Championship, ultimately falling to Georgia and ending the season ranked No. 2 nationally.

In the most recent match between SMU and each of this season's opponents, the Mustangs have claimed victory.

SMU begins its season on the road, facing South Carolina on September 26 and Oklahoma State on October 10.

For its home opener, SMU is set to host Auburn on October 25. Last time out, the Mustangs defeated the No. 1 Tigers 12-7 in the regular season finale, extending a still active 19-home meet winning streak.

To continue the home slate, Texas A&M will travel to the Hilltop on November 13. Immediately following the Aggie-Mustang battle, SMU will hit the road to face Baylor on November 14 to close out 2025.

Hosting UC Davis, the Mustangs will hold their first meet of the year on January 28. On January 31, SMU will face the Gamecocks again. On the road once more, SMU battles Texas A&M and Auburn for the second time this season.

For the final meet of the regular season, the Mustangs will compete against Oklahoma State at home on March 7.

On April 16-18, the NCEA Nationals are being held in Ocala, Fla., where the Mustangs will look to advance to their fourth consecutive national championship.

SMU returns 26 riders from the last season and welcomes nine newcomers including sophomore Georgia transfer
