3 Mustangs selected for Senior Bowl Top 300 list

MOBILE, Ala. (SMU) – Three Mustangs have been named to the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl Top 300 list, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Safeties Isaiah Nwokobia and Ahmaad Moses claimed their spots on the list, marking the second consecutive year of Nwokobia earning this honor. Tight end RJ Maryland also earned the honor. With 86 schools represented, the three Mustangs join 51 other picks from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

The Senior Bowl scouting department, comprised entirely of former NFL scouts, has been evaluating over 2,000 prospects from all levels of college football. From that extensive and competitive process, the Senior Bowl Top 300 was composed.

In 2024, Nwokobia played a critical part in the Mustang defense, being one of two Mustangs to record 100-or-more tackles during the season. Also contributing six pass breakups and three interceptions, the Dallas native was named All-ACC First Team, Phil Steele All-America Honorable Mention, Phil Steele All-ACC First Team and AP All-ACC Second Team. This Senior Bowl Top 300 list honor is the 12th accolade the safety has earned in the 2025 preseason.

Another force on SMU's defense, Ahmaad Moses put up 73 tackles and six pass breakups last year. Moses led the Mustang defensive backs with six tackles-for-loss. For his efforts in 2024, the safety was named All-ACC Honorable Mention. This season, he has already been selected to the Preseason All-ACC First Team by Athlon Sports and the Preseason All-ACC Second Team by Phil Steele.

Maryland was explosive for SMU's offense before getting injured. Prior to the injury, the tight end registered 24 receptions for 359 yards, totaling four receiving touchdowns. Despite missing half of the season, Maryland still nabbed All-ACC honors. Coming into this season, the Southlake native has earned spots on the Phil Steele Preseason All-ACC Second Team, Athlon Sports Preseason All-ACC Second Team, the John Mackey Award Watch List and the College Football Comeback Player of the Year Watch List

The list represents more than just a preseason acknowledgement; it is a reflection of the highest standards in college football. Being named to the Senior Bowl Top 300 list signals that the prospects on this list are viewed among the very best in the country.
